This May 16 the Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, Pedro Duque, has been able to see first hand the CITIES Timanfaya Project, an initiative of the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism of the Cabildo de Lanzarote (CACT) financed by the Fondo de Canary Development (FDECAN).

Duke was visiting the Technological Park of the Carlos III University of Madrid, when, about to leave, he has run into the demonstration vehicle, immediately interested in the project and taking the opportunity to get on the minibus and receive first-hand explanations on the sensing work that the Consortium formed by a dozen entities and coordinated by the Spanish Road Association, is undertaking.

The Minister, who wanted to deepen some technical aspects of CITIES, has been informed about the recent meeting held by those responsible with the Director of Research, Development and Innovation, Teresa Riesgo, in which she expressed the interest of promoting an Interministerial Commission that study the adaptation of legislation to driverless transport.
